Sittingbourne Advanced Academy

After the success of the Maidstone Academy Soccer Elite FA will be opening a new Advanced Academy in Sittingbourne.  Sessions will be held every Friday night at the Sittinbourne Community College on the excellent 3G surface starting from the 9th January 2009.  The Academy will be on an invitation only basis for players in school years 2, 3 and 4.

Window of opportunity

Soccer Elite FA believe that the development of young home-grown talent is essential for the long term success and growth of english football, it is our intention to have players, staff, and facilities which are regarded as amongst the best anywhere in the south east area.  We have already established a reputation of excellence in Maidstone now Soccer Elite FA endevour to do just that in Sittingbourne.

Aspiring young players will receive the best professional football coaching, preparing them to step straight into a professional academy team.  It is our belief that by giving the best coaching, creating the right enviroment and providing the best facilities players will stand a much greater chance of fulfilling their dream, a career in football.  Players will have the chance to be selected to play friendly fixtures against Professional Academy opposition such as Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC, Millwall FC and Gillingham FC to name but a few.  This being the perfect platform to show case their talents at the highest level. 

Goalkeepers Academy

Also running alongside the Advanced Academy will be a Goalkeepers Academy.  Head Coach of the Goalkeepers at the Sittingbourne Academy will be Steve Williams who has a wealth of experience within the Professional and Semi - Professional game.  A specific programme has been put together to facilitate the skills and techniques required to enable individual goalkeepers to progress through the Academy system.  The following topics will all be covered throughout the course of the season:  Speed and agility, power, footwork, handling, distribution, shot stopping, crossing, conditioning and reactions.  The amount of work on each topic will vary on the age of the goalkeeper.
